Go here for a big Latin grill dinner with a group, a birthday, or a quick weekday lunch near the office. The trade-off: the menu is in flux after a merger, so the place you remember may not match what's on the table.

Off the charcoal

Picanha and churrasco are the anchors here, cooked over charcoal and backed by Venezuelan staples: cachapas, tequeños, tostones, ceviche and sancocho. Save room for quesillo or flan. The bigger news is that A Fuego Lento has taken in El Sazón de Puerto Rico, so Puerto Rican dishes now sit beside the old favorites. Google still describes it as a Chinese and Venezuelan barbecue fusion, but the restaurant's own site talks only about the Latin grill and the new Boricua additions. Expect a menu that's grown, not one that's been replaced. It holds a 4.6 from about 6,600 Google reviews, which is a lot of happy steak eaters.

The Tuesday martini math

Every Tuesday from noon to 6 pm, martinis are $3 across the whole restaurant. That's the deal to plan around if you work in Doral. The rest of the week, the bar mixes classics and house cocktails built to go with grilled meat, and it's pitched as an after-work stop. Weekdays also bring a business lunch billed as a full meal with fast service, which makes sense given how many offices sit nearby. Hours run 11:30 am to 10 pm Monday through Wednesday, noon to 11 pm Thursday through Saturday, and noon to 10 pm on Sunday.
