Good for a daytime beach setup at the calm southern end of Ocean Drive. The trade-off: it closes by 5 or 6 pm, and prices and access rules aren't posted, so you'll need to ask ahead.

The bottom of Ocean Drive

At 101 Ocean Dr, Bentley Beach Club sits at the very bottom of Ocean Drive, in the South of Fifth stretch where South Beach turns calmer and more residential than the blocks up by the Art Deco strip. It's tied to a resort hotel, and Google also lists it as a restaurant, so food is part of the setup. It holds a 4.4 from about 600 Google reviews, a solid score for a South Beach beach spot. Think beach day with someone else handling the logistics.

Daylight hours only

It opens at 10 am every day and closes at 5 pm Monday through Friday, an hour later at 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. That's strictly a sun schedule. Even in December, closing comes before sunset, so you won't catch golden hour from here. Arrive near opening if you want a full day on the sand. For dinner or drinks afterward, you'll be walking somewhere else in South of Fifth, which has plenty of options within a few blocks.

Sort out access first

Neither the club's website nor Google lists prices, day passes, or whether you need to be a hotel guest, and there's no price level on record. That's the one thing to settle before you go. Call ahead or check the booking page instead of showing up and hoping, especially on a weekend. Ask what a spot includes, whether food and drinks come to your chair, and what happens if the weather turns. You'll get a better day for the five minutes it takes.
