Best for a rooftop drink in Brickell or a stylish base near the cruise port. The trade-off: it's a hotel first, so bar hours aren't posted clearly and the rooftop draws a crowd.

Sugar, up top

Sugar is the reason most locals know this address. It's the hotel's rooftop bar, part of a terrace that Google describes as a cocktail lounge alongside four pools, and it's the main draw for people who aren't staying here. The building sits inside Brickell City Centre, so you're surrounded by towers rather than looking out over open water. The hotel lists itself as open 24 hours, but that's the front desk, not the bar. Sugar's own hours aren't in what we checked, so look them up before you plan a night around it. The hotel holds 4.5 from about 4,000 Google reviews.

Three more places to drink

Below the roof, the hotel runs a few other spots worth knowing. Quinto handles Latin food and is where the hotel's breakfast packages send you. Tea Room does Asian-inspired cocktails, a quieter pick if Sugar is packed. Domain is the coffee stop, handy if you're shopping in Brickell City Centre and need a break. There's also a pool and deck area listed among the bars. None of these have prices or menus in the sources we saw, so treat them as a good set of options in one building rather than destinations on their own. Tea Room is the one to try for a date.

Booking a room

Rooms start with the Urban King, which the hotel says comes with Brickell and Downtown views, a private balcony and a spa-style bathroom. Corner and Bay categories sit above that, and there are suites plus longer-stay residences. The hotel runs regular deals: book two nights and the second is half off, or stay three or more and get up to 30% off the whole stay. There's also a package with breakfast for two at Quinto. It's about 10 minutes from the cruise terminal, which makes it an easy night before sailing. EAST also has hotels in Hong Kong and Beijing, but this is the only one in Miami.
