Good for a sharp sushi lunch or an easy date night when you'd rather not choose. The trade-off: almost no substitutions, an 18% service charge on every check, and it's a chain, not a chef's counter.

The set menus are the point here. At dinner, the OMA runs $40: an appetizer, sashimi, a run of nigiri from seasonal fish to bluefin, a hand roll special and a blue crab hand roll. The OMA Deluxe adds more pieces and a negi-toro hand roll for $52. The OMAKAI Experience is a nine-course tasting at $75 for premium and seasonal cuts. There's also a vegan set at $28. Prefer to steer? À la carte nigiri comes two pieces per order, from $8 dorade to $16 o-toro and $20 A5 wagyu. The bluefin is ranched in Baja California, per the menu.
Lunch and happy hour
Lunch is where the value sits. The OMA set drops to $34, the Deluxe to $42, and the smaller OMA bite starts at $20. The Grove branch also runs happy hour every day from 3 to 6:30 pm, with a special menu of nigiri, hand rolls, sake, wine and beer. It opens at 11:30 am daily and serves until 10:30 pm, or 11:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, so a late dinner after a Grove evening is easy. The fine print
Read this before you book. Fish arrives in limited quantities daily, so the kitchen won't swap items except for shellfish allergies. The menu says outright that cross-contamination is possible and guests with severe allergies shouldn't dine here. An 18% service charge is added to every check, and any extra tip is your call, so don't double up by accident. Uni, Japanese uni and specialty pieces like toro truffle or unagi foie gras are limited availability, which means the later you show up, the shorter that list may get. Order those early.
