The Hills is a named spot inside South Pointe Park, the city-run park at the south end of South Beach. As the name says, it's the raised part of the park, which counts for something in a city that's otherwise flat as a parking lot. The city's own pages don't describe this section in any detail, so treat it as what it is: somewhere to climb a little, sit down and look around. Bring a towel or a blanket rather than counting on a free bench.

Hours are the same every day: 8 am to 8 pm, weekends included. That makes it an easy early stop before you head to the sand, or a late-afternoon one once the heat eases off. In winter the sun sets well before closing, so you get the light change with time to spare.
