Privacy policy
City by Six is a Miami city guide made by PatStudio LLC, Miami, Florida. This policy covers citybysix.com and the City by Six apps for iPhone and Android, which show the same site inside the app. Last updated 22 October 2026.
The short version
- You do not need an account. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- We count visits and taps with a random ID kept on your device, not your identity.
- Your location is used only when you ask for places near you, to work out walking times, and is never stored.
- If you write to the assistant, we keep that text to answer you and to improve answers.
- We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party ads.
What we collect and why
Usage analytics (ours)
When a page opens or you tap things like a place card, a map pin, Save, Book or Directions, the site sends an event to our own server: the event name, the page, the place, the time, a random visitor ID and a random session ID stored in your browser's local storage, the device type (phone, tablet, desktop), the language, the referring website and campaign tags, the country from our network provider (Cloudflare) and whether you use the app. We do not store your IP address or a device fingerprint. We use this to see which places and features are useful. Events are deleted after 13 months.
Google Analytics
On citybysix.com and in the apps we also use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and the same events. Google Analytics uses cookies or app identifiers and processes your IP address to estimate location; Google acts as our processor under its data processing terms. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's tracking settings.
The assistant
If you describe your evening to the assistant, we store your messages and our answers with your random visitor ID, so the conversation continues and so we can improve the answers. To write some answers we send the text of your message to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude language model; Anthropic does not use it to train its models. Do not type personal details such as your full name, phone number or health information into the assistant.
Voice input
The microphone button uses the speech recognition built into your browser or phone (Apple on iPhone and Safari, Google on Android and Chrome). The audio goes to that provider, not to us; we receive only the resulting text, which is treated like a typed message.
Location
“Near me” on the map asks your device for your location and uses it only to place a marker on the map on your screen; that stays on your device. “Open now near you” sends your position to our server to work out walking times to nearby places. We use it for that one answer and do not store it or link it to your visitor ID. You can always pick a neighborhood instead.
Saved places and settings
Places you save, the theme and the language are stored only in your browser or app on your device.
Services that see your requests
Loading pages and pictures means your device talks to the services that host them, and they receive your IP address and browser details as part of normal web traffic: Railway (our servers, United States), Cloudflare (domain, network and image storage), OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap (map tiles), Google Fonts (the typeface) and, on place pages that show reels, Instagram (Meta) when the embedded post loads. Place facts and photos come from Google Places, but no information about you is sent to Google for that. Links to restaurants, tour operators, maps and booking sites take you to those sites under their own privacy policies; we add a tag naming City by Six to those links so they know the visit came from us.
Children
City by Six is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
You can clear the visitor ID and saved places by clearing the site data in your browser or by deleting the app. To ask what we hold about your visitor ID, to get a copy or to have it deleted, including your assistant conversations, write to connect@patstudio.tech from the device you used and tell us roughly when you used the assistant; we answer within 30 days. Residents of California, the EU, the UK and other places with privacy laws have these rights by law, and we offer them to everyone.
Changes
When we change what we collect we update this page and the date at the top.
