Good for a date or a group birthday where the table rituals are part of the fun. The trade-off: it's $$$, curries run high $20s and naan is extra, so dinner adds up fast.
Start with the tandoor
Butter chicken ($26) is the order the house leans on. Murgh tikka ($27) is the showier one: a Miami food creator filmed it arriving in flames at the table. Seafood gets more attention here than on most Indian menus, with Goa jheenga curry ($29) made with Ecuadorian shrimp, plus lobster and octopus masala. Vegetarians do well too: dal makhani ($23) and achari bengan ($22), eggplant in a spicy, sour sauce. The tandoori mix ($57) covers a table. Garlic naan is $7, so budget for bread. Your server asks for one of four spice levels, dish by dish.
The little rituals
Press accounts describe a bindi at the welcome, warm herbal tea for your hands before dessert and a hand-washing ritual that closes the meal. Some people love the theater. If you just want a quiet curry, it may feel like a lot. There are also recurring Mehndi Nights with Kathak dance and henna for guests, so ask when the next one is if that sounds fun. This is the first U.S. branch of a restaurant founded in Santiago, Chile, in 2007 by Vikram Thadani, who was born in Chile to Indian parents.
Noon to happy hour
Doors open at noon every day, and the restaurant says it's the only Indian spot in Wynwood serving lunch. That makes it a solid midday sit-down between gallery stops. Happy hour runs Monday to Friday, 5 to 7 pm, with half off alcoholic drinks. It's the cheapest way into a cocktail list built around Indian spices. Mocktails and zero-proof spirits cover anyone not drinking. Dinner runs until 10 pm most nights and 11 pm on Friday and Saturday. It holds 4.6 from about 4,200 Google reviews.
