For visiting divers who want a straightforward boat day and beginners ready to get certified. Prices are posted and fair, but you're on a fixed boat schedule with an early arrival, and cards cost a little more than cash.

Two departures a day

Boats leave at 8:30 am and 1:30 pm, seven days a week, including most holidays. The shop has three boats in Pompano and a fourth up in Boynton Beach, so check which dock your trip uses before you drive. The lineup covers reef, wreck and drift dives, plus snorkel trips, night dives and technical dives. The shop is open 7:30 am to 5 pm every day, which lines up with the morning boat. Schedules and open spots are online, and so are the diver and snorkel waivers, which saves you paperwork at the counter. It holds a 4.7 from about 490 Google reviews.

The price list

Prices are posted and plain. A two-tank dive trip is $90 cash, a three-tank trip $130, or $145 with food. Snorkel trips are $70 for adults and kids under 12 alike, and a non-diving friend can ride along as a bubble watcher for $65. A one-tank night dive is $70. Rentals are per day: mask, fins and snorkel for $15, a full air gear package for $70, the nitrox package $80. Cards run about 3% more on every line, so bring cash if that matters to you. A private guide is $125, plus $50 for each extra diver.

Getting certified

New to diving? The Discover Scuba course is the try-it-once option before you commit to anything. From there it's PADI Open Water, then Advanced Open Water for navigation and deeper dives, with specialty certifications after that. There's also an open water referral option, typically for people who did the classroom part elsewhere. The shop runs themed trips through the year too: a Fourth of July dive with fireworks, a Women's Day dive, a Halloween dive, a Santa dive and lobster mini season. Before any of it, look at the marine forecast; the shop asks you to call if sea conditions look like a problem.
