  • Seating is first come, first served. Doors open 30 to 90 minutes before showtime, and the club suggests arriving 45 to 60 minutes early.

The Miami Improv, in plain terms

The Miami Improv is not in Miami Beach or Brickell. It is in Doral, at 3450 NW 83rd Avenue, Suite 224, west of the airport, so plan a ride or a drive. It books touring stand-up comedians most weekends, along with Spanish-language shows and special events.

Ticket prices change by act and are shown at checkout, not on the club's home page. Budget on top of the ticket for the two-drink minimum per person, which applies to everyone in the room. The club does not post parking details in its FAQ; it asks you to call the box office.

The walk-up box office opens on show days at 5 pm Wednesday and Thursday, noon on Friday and Saturday and 3 pm on Sunday, and closes 30 minutes after showtime. Reserved seats come only with VIP bottle service or a tab minimum, arranged with the box office; everyone else is seated in order of arrival.

Just the Funny is upstairs at 3119 Coral Way. Shows run Friday and Saturday nights between 8 and 11 pm, under names like Friday Night Live, The Big Show and Deathmatch, plus a musical improv show and the Spanish-language ¡DALE IMPRO!. It also has a small second room, The Spotlight, for stand-up and experimental sets.

If you are staying in Fort Lauderdale or north Miami-Dade, the Ft. Lauderdale Improv in Dania Beach, which the Miami Improv lists as a sister club, has the same two-drink rule. Karlous Miller plays there October 30 to November 1.
