Book it for a birthday, an anniversary or a night out where dinner turns into dancing. It's a $$$$ room with a strict dress code and a party crowd later on, so it's the wrong pick for a quiet, cheap or casual meal.

Dinner, then the show

Delilah runs in two acts. The group describes a roaring-20s, Art Deco room serving American food, with live performers and surprise acts, then lounge-style bottle service once dinner hours wind down. The Miami branch opens at 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday and at 6 pm on Sunday, and it stays open until 2 am every night it's open. It's closed Monday. An early table gets you dinner. A late one puts you in the middle of the performance and the bottle crowd. Pick the hour that matches the night you actually want.

What it costs

It's a $$$$ place, and the group's other menus point to steakhouse-level spending: seafood towers, caviar, wagyu and high-end cocktails. Those menus are for other cities, though, so check the Miami menu on the site before you go. Don't assume the Dallas or Los Angeles prices carry over. Google reviewers give it 4.2 from about 1,100 ratings. That's solid but not glowing, which is fair for a room where the spectacle is a big part of what you're paying for.

The door

The dress code is real. The house calls it upscale casual chic and asks guests to dress for the occasion. Collared shirts are recommended. Athletic wear, shorts, swimwear, flip-flops and slides are all out. Brickell Key is a small residential island across the bridge from Brickell, so it's quieter than the mainland strip and worth planning your ride home around. Show up dressed for a night out, not straight from the pool or the gym.

Tenue

Wear a collared shirt. Shorts, flip-flops, slides, swimwear and athletic wear won't get past the door.
