For Brickell locals who want arepas at breakfast or a burger after midnight. The menu tries to do too much to be great at all of it, so lean on the Venezuelan side.

Arepa or cachapa

The Venezuelan section is the reason to pick this place over other Brickell options. Every filling comes two ways: as an arepa, roughly $10 to $15, or as a cachapa, the sweet corn pancake, for about double. The Reina Pepeada, with shredded chicken, mayo and avocado, is $11.95 as an arepa. Pabellón, with black beans, plantains, shredded beef and white cheese, is $14.95. The splurge is the Best Friend's Cachapa at $31.95, with mano cheese, churrasco and an egg on top. Add tequeños, the cheese fingers, for $11.95 and you've covered the basics.

Pancakes before work

Doors open at 7 am on weekdays and 8 am on Sunday, and the breakfast menu is long. Eggs start at $11.95, eggs Benedict on brioche is $21.95, and the Criollo Breakfast at $18.95 brings white cheese, black beans, eggs, an arepa and shredded beef. The sweet side goes hard: pistachio cream French toast, Oreo pancakes and Nutella waffles, most at $21.95. Açaí bowls start at $15.95. None of it is cheap for breakfast, but the plates are full, and a sidewalk seat beats eating at your desk.

Late on a Friday

It closes at midnight most nights. On Friday and Saturday it stays open until 2 am, which is the real draw in this part of Brickell. The late menu is the full menu: burgers run $18.95 to $23.95, and the Explosion Guava Burger, Angus beef with bacon, white cheese and a guava barbecue sauce, is $20.95. Pizzas start at $14.95 for a medium margherita, and there's wine and beer. It holds a 4.3 from about 1,900 Google reviews. That fits a place that does a lot of things fine and a few things well.

Bon à savoir

Any arepa filling also comes as a cachapa, but the cachapa costs roughly twice as much.
