Family-run sportfishing charters out of Coconut Grove: two sportfishers and a tarpon boat, priced per party for up to six.
Vérifié novembre 2026
Good for a group of four to six who want a real day offshore with a crew that teaches beginners, and 5.0 from about 100 Google reviews backs that up. The trade-off is cost: it's per boat, so it only adds up if you fill it.
Picking a boat and a price
The half day on Miss Britt I, the 34-foot express, runs $1,200; the 43-foot Miss Britt II is $1,400. Six hours costs $1,500 or $1,700, a full day $1,800 or $2,000, and the 12-hour Iron Man tops out at $2,750. Swordfish trips start at $2,100. For tarpon, Miss Cheyenne goes out at dusk or dawn only, four hours for $1,150. Prices are per party, not per person, with six max per boat and no split charters, so bring your own crew. Licenses, ice, tackle, bait and fish cleaning are included. Budget another 15 to 20 percent for the tip.
What to pack
Food and drinks are on you, including water. The crew sometimes has snacks aboard, but that depends on how hungry the last group was. Leave the cooler in the car: the boats have built-in coolers and ice, so pack everything in bags. Bring sunblock, a hat, polarized sunglasses and boat shoes or sandals, plus a rain layer if the sky looks iffy. Beer is fine, it's your charter, but overdo it and they'll head back with the full fee due. Kids and first-timers are welcome. The first half hour usually goes to catching live bait, which doubles as a tackle lesson.
Your catch, your dinner
Legal-sized edible fish go home with you, cleaned as time allows. If you're hauling a lot, the crew may be racing a back-to-back trip, so come in a few minutes early. The better move: Monty's sits right behind the dock and will cook your catch for $7, you add sides and sign a release. Want a mount? Say so before the fish goes back, and the crew will measure it for a replica release mount. Weather calls belong to Ray or the captain. If they cancel, you get your money back, and you get a full refund if you cancel more than three days out.
