Best for groups who want bay views, frozen drinks and a loud weekend crowd in one spot. It's a party venue more than a quiet waterfront drink, and it's only open Thursday through Sunday.

What to drink

Happy hour is the move: half off specialty cocktails Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 pm, which also lines up with sunset over the bay. The bar program leans tropical, with 20-plus craft cocktails and a dozen or so frozen drinks spread across three open-air bars. Grab one from the bar and find a spot in the open seating, which mixes communal tables, picnic tables, Adirondack chairs and high tops. If you'd rather have someone bring the drinks, the table and lounge areas come with full cocktail service. It holds 4.3 from about 1,300 Google reviews.

Five kitchens, one bill of fare

The food side runs like a waterfront food hall, built for sharing. Phuc Yea from Cesar Zapata handles Latin-Vietnamese, Tackle Box from Jeff McInnis does coastal seafood, José Mendín's The Piefather makes pizza, Kenny Gilbert's House of Birds covers Southern biscuits, and Jeremy Ford's JJ's is the guilty-pleasures stand. That lineup makes it easy for a group to split up and still sit together. Time Out Miami called the food largely solid, which is about the right expectation for a place this size: good bar food from serious names, not a sit-down dinner.

When it gets loud

Regatta Grove is closed Monday through Wednesday. Thursday runs 4 pm to 1 am, Friday 4 pm to 3 am, Saturday noon to 3 am and Sunday noon to midnight. Saturdays bring the Sip, Savor, Celebrate party and Sundays the Smooth Sailing afternoon, both with DJs or live music. Weekend nights are when the crowd thickens and the volume goes up, so come early in the afternoon if you want a conversation and a view. Everything is outdoors on the bay, which means a summer storm can end your night fast. Check the forecast first.
