Tin Tin
Tinta y Café's big sister on Calle Ocho: Cuban dinner with French and Italian moves, plus a Sunday brunch.
Vérifié octobre 2026
Book it for a date or a parents-in-town dinner when you want Cuban flavors dressed up for a night out. The trade-off: it's $$$ on a stretch of SW 8th where you can eat for far less, and it's closed Mondays.
What to order at dinner
The Ropa Vieja Wellington is the headline: shredded beef in pastry with creamed yuca, citrus cabbage and salsa espagnole. Malanga gnocchi cacio e pepe with crispy speck shows the Italian side, and the "Cuban Sandwich" wagyu carpaccio, with lechón tonnato sauce and pickle, is the appetizer that gets talked about. For two big eaters, the Duo of Beef pairs prime strip with braised rabo encendido. Save room for Tinta's flan with guava rum glaze or the maduro tres leches. It holds 4.9 from about 930 Google reviews, which is a strong showing for a dinner room this ambitious.
Sunday is different
Sunday runs 11 am to 4 pm and the menu shifts to brunch with a lot of Tinta y Café DNA. Croquetas come in ham, bacalao and spinach, pastelitos in guava, guava and cheese, cheese or beef. The Croquetón stacks a croqueta with ham, mortadella, Swiss and pork. Tin Tin's Benedict swaps meat for two ham croquetas under lime hollandaise, and the guava and cream cheese French toast is the sweet pick. There's also La Minuta, a tempura yellowtail snapper sandwich on brioche, if you want something lighter than steak and eggs.
The cocktail list
Drinks lean on Cuban pantry flavors. The Clarita Guayabita mixes Tequila Ocho, Lillet and white port with guava honey and cream cheese, basically a pastelito in a glass. Josefina Martin Gallo is the espresso martini move, with coconut-washed Grey Goose and a Cuban coffee liqueur. Rosita "La Saguesera" nods to the neighborhood with tequila and pomelo. Non-drinkers get real options, including a hibiscus spritz and a house "Mojito." The wine list skews Spanish and Portuguese by the glass, and the site advertises a happy hour, so ask for times when you book.
