Key Biscayne is the island across the Rickenbacker Causeway: two state and county parks with the best beaches near the city and almost no high-rises. Rent a bike at Crandon, ride the path south, and finish at the 1825 lighthouse in Bill Baggs with a swim.

Bon à savoir

  • Both parks charge a per-car entry fee; cyclists pay less.
  • The causeway itself is a ride locals do for the bay views; the climb over the bridge is the only hill in Miami.
  • No shade on the path: hat, water, sunscreen.
