In breve

  • Italian: Salumeria 104, 3451 NE 1st Ave: Northern Italian, fresh pasta and salumi.
  • All-day: Motek, 3255 NE 1st Ave: Mediterranean, open from noon, 11 am on weekends.
  • Night out: Lagniappe, 3425 NE 2nd Ave: wine, grill and live music nightly from 9 pm.
  • Brunch deal: Tap 42: weekends 11 am to 3 pm, $25 bottomless drinks.
  • Closed: Sugarcane shut in early 2025, though some directories still list it.

In Midtown, eat Italian at Salumeria 104 or Mediterranean at Motek, finish at Lagniappe for wine and a band, and walk a few blocks north to the Design District when you want a bigger night.

Midtown, and why the old lists are wrong

Midtown Miami is the compact neighborhood of apartment towers and shops between Wynwood to the south and the Design District to the north, built around NE 1st Avenue, N Miami Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue. Many of its restaurants sit at street level in the Midtown buildings, with more along NE 2nd Avenue.

Most Midtown restaurant lists are years old. The best-known name on them, Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill at 3252 NE 1st Ave, closed quietly after 15 years, as Local10 reported in February 2025, and its booking page now shows it as permanently closed. The Midtown Miami directory still lists it. La Cabrera's own site lists only its Sunny Isles and Coconut Grove restaurants, even though its Midtown booking page is still up. So this guide sticks to places whose own sites we opened in October 2026.
