For a long, shared Lebanese meal in the Grove, a date or a group brunch. It's priced at the top end ($$$$), so the weekday lunch deal and happy hour are the smart ways in.

What to order

Start with Amal's hummus, the one topped with beef tenderloin, pomegranate and roasted pine nuts, and pair it with the truffle rakakat, crisp rolls with honey, grapes, mint and pistachios. Kibbeh nayeh, a beef tenderloin tartare with bulgur, is there for the raw-meat crowd. The dip sampler lets you pick three if the table can't agree. For mains, the pistachio kebab is the house twist on kefta. The skewer platters come sized for two or four, with pita, grilled vegetables, green shug, toum and fries. That's the easy call for a group that doesn't want to negotiate.

The weekday lunch break

Monday to Friday, lunch runs 11:30 am to 4 pm, and the menu includes a Lunch Break set: a starter plus an entrée, or an entrée plus dessert. Starters include fattoush, garlic labneh, fried kibbeh and the truffle rakakat. Entrées cover a skewer platter, branzino over roasted red pepper hummus, a vegetarian platter with falafel, fatayer and grape leaves, plus several lavash wraps. Some items carry a supplement. At a $$$$ place, this is the most reasonable way to eat here. On weekends, brunch replaces lunch from 11 am to 4 pm, and the site also lists a happy hour from 4 to 7 pm.

The room and the terrace

Pastel blues, dusty rose and muted terracotta set the tone inside, with an Arabesque look given a bright, modern update. There's also a landscaped outdoor terrace, which is where you want to sit on a mild Grove evening. Dinner runs until 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and until 11 pm on Friday and Saturday. The doors open at 11:30 am on weekdays and 11 am on weekends. With 4.7 from about 2,900 Google reviews, it's a popular spot, so weekend nights and brunch fill up. There's a sister location in Toronto, but this Main Highway room has the terrace.
