CARBONE VINO
Major Food Group's wine-focused Carbone spinoff on Grand Avenue, with house-made pasta and rare wines poured by the glass.
Verificato ottobre 2026
For a dressed-up Grove dinner built around pasta and pours you rarely see by the glass. It's $$$$ and the dress code is strict, but 4.5 from about 540 Google reviews says most people leave happy.
The pasta and the sundae
Pasta is the reason to book. It's made in-house daily, and the menu carries the Carbone signatures plus dishes you won't find at the original. The new ones on the site are Pumpkin Agnolotti, Tortellini with Truffles and Spaghettini Bambini, which is buttered noodles made with grass-fed butter and aged Parmigiano Reggiano. That last one sounds like a kids' plate and is priced like nothing of the sort, since this is a $$$$ room. Save space for the Cannoli Sundae: cannoli-flavored soft serve with chopped pistachios, chocolate bits and fresh-fried shell pieces. The restaurant treats it as its signature dessert, and it's an easy one to split.
Wine by the glass, or your own
Over 600 selections come out of a 3,000-bottle cellar, and the whole idea here is that fine and rare bottles get poured by the glass, on a list that keeps changing. That lets a table of two try three serious wines without committing to a bottle. Bringing your own is allowed at $75 corkage per 750ml bottle, $150 for a magnum. More than three bottles and they want an email ahead so the team can plan for it. At that fee, only bring something you'd actually miss.
The bar and the door
The bar serves the full menu and takes walk-ins, which is your move when reservations are gone. Dinner runs 5 to 10 pm Monday through Thursday, 4 to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 5 to 10 pm on Sunday. Lunch is 11:30 am to 2 pm Friday through Sunday. The dress code is real: no open-toed shoes, tank tops, athletic wear or baseball caps, and no shorts except tailored ones at lunch. The site says underdressed guests may be refused entry, and in the Grove, where flip-flops are the default, that rule catches people.
