For a steak-and-malbec dinner without a scene: skirt steak, bife de chorizo, flan with dulce de leche. The cooking is simple on purpose, so skip it if you want inventive plates or a room built for photos.

The steak to order

Regulars point to the bife de chorizo, a NY strip at $35 with grilled tomato, eggplant, salsa criolla and blue cheese. The churrasco de entraña, skirt steak with home-cut fries and chimichurri, runs $37, and the 12 oz prime vacío is $35. Going big means the 16 oz ribeye at $46. The beef is certified Angus, and the kitchen sticks to the Argentine idea that a good cut needs salt, fire and chimichurri. If someone at the table doesn't want steak, the milanesa a la napolitana ($27) is the classic answer.

Before and after the meat

Start the way an Argentine family would: provoleta con chorizo ($16), the chorizo, morcilla and sausage sampler ($14), and a couple of $5 empanadas, knife-cut beef or corn with mozzarella. The crispy sweetbreads ($16) and grilled octopus with romesco ($24) show up a lot in reviews. The Italian side of the menu is no afterthought: short rib ravioli and porcini ravioli are $20, and the lamb ragù pappardelle is $26. Save room for flan or panqueques, both with homemade dulce de leche, $10 and $12.

Malbec and the patio

Nearly the whole wine list is Argentine. Glasses run $10 to $12, and bottles of Zuccardi, Malma or Tilia start at $40, climbing to Catena Alta at $100 and El Gran Enemigo at $150. Beer drinkers get Quilmes for $6 alongside local Wynwood and Veza Sur drafts. The room has rustic decor, and there's an outdoor patio that reviewers describe as shaded, with fans. It holds 4.7 from about 3,100 Google reviews, and service comes up again and again as a reason people return.
