Croissants and the sweet stuff

The ovens fire before the doors open, and the croissants are made in-house: plain, pistachio, Nutella, or ham and cheese. Brunch leans sweet if you let it. The guava bacon waffle comes with dulce de leche whipped cream, and the tres leches French toast is brioche soaked through. For something savory, the Wynwood Benedict puts poached eggs on a biscuit with coffee bacon jam and smoked hollandaise. Breakfast runs all day, so there's no cutoff to beat. Lunch turns Latin and meaty. Picanha shows up all over the menu: in the chimichurri bowl, over crispy tostones, with two eggs as steak and eggs, and as a 10oz cut from the grill. The beef milanesa is one of the house picks, and grill plates come with two sides. For the table, the five-piece empanada bites and the cheesy yuca poppers are easy calls. There are burgers and a house-made ossobuco ravioli too. Prices sit at $$, and it holds a 4.8 from about 200 Google reviews, strong, though still a modest pool of opinions.

Evenings in the garden

The open-air garden, with cocktails under the umbrellas, is the evening side of the place, but evenings are short. Only Friday and Saturday run until 9 pm. Tuesday through Thursday it closes at 6, Sunday at 5, and Monday it's closed. So a garden drink is mostly a weekend plan, or a late-afternoon one. The location does a lot of work: the Messi mural is down the street and the Wynwood Walls are a few blocks south, which makes it an easy before or after for an art walk. They also book the garden for private and corporate events.
