Haulover Beach
The county-designated clothing-optional north end of Haulover Beach Park, on the strip between the Intracoastal and the Atlantic.
Checked November 2026
For anyone curious about a nude beach with a mixed, low-pressure crowd, lifeguards and a food truck. The trade-off is logistics: paid lots that fill on weekends and close before sunset.
Towers 12 to 16
The clothing-optional stretch is the northern third of Haulover Beach Park, between lifeguard towers #12 and #16, and signs mark where it starts. Miami-Dade County officially designates it, and nudity here has been legal since 1991. It really is optional: some people keep swimsuits on, most don't, and nobody's checking. The crowd covers every age and body type, and the fan site says a sunny day can pull more than 7,000 people. Expect open ocean surf and white sand. It holds a 4.7 from about 300 Google reviews, which for a nude beach mostly means people found it relaxed rather than weird.
Parking and the tunnels
Park in the North Lot, reached through the Haulover Marine Center boat ramp entrance, or in Lot #1. From either, walk through pedestrian tunnel #4 or #5 and you come out near the right section. Cars pay $7 on weekdays and $10 on weekends and holidays, with a $1 weekday surcharge at those two closest lots. Pay with PayByPhone. Lots open at sunrise and close an hour before sunset, and they can fill and shut on busy weekends, so get there early. Rates are set by the county and do change, so trust the posted signs over anything you read online.
What's on the sand
Lifeguards usually work 9 am to 5 pm. A food truck in the section typically keeps the same hours, selling cold drinks, hot food and snacks, and you can text an order to have it brought to your spot. Chairs rent for $10, and umbrellas are available, though shade runs out fast on a busy day. The park has restrooms and outdoor showers but no lockers, so bring a dry bag and don't leave valuables alone for long. Sunscreen matters more than usual here, for obvious reasons. The beach has photography rules, and pointing a phone at strangers is the quickest way to make enemies.
Getting there
- Skip the parking scramble: Miami-Dade Transit Route 120 runs along Collins Ave and stops near the park.
Good to know
Lots close an hour before sunset, so plan to be back at your car before dusk.
