Pérez Art Museum Miami
Modern and contemporary art in a hanging-garden building on Biscayne Bay, with a terrace made for the afternoon.
Checked October 2026
PAMM is the downtown museum you plan an afternoon around: an international modern and contemporary collection, a building whose shaded terrace over the bay is an exhibit on its own, and late hours on Thursday.
Why you go
Because the building alone is worth the ticket, with its hanging gardens and a deck that faces the water and the port, and because the collection inside is the city's most serious: modern and contemporary art from the Americas, the Caribbean and beyond, with big rotating shows. The café on the terrace is where you end up.
When to go
Thursday evening, when it stays open until 9 pm and the bay turns gold. Otherwise 11 am to 6 pm Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Weekday afternoons are quiet.
