Getting there without a car

Metrorail: ride either line to Government Center, which connects to MiamiCentral. Metrorail costs $2.25 and you can tap a contactless card or phone at the gate. Tri-Rail's station page also names Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre as a Metrorail option.

Metromover: the free downtown people mover stops at Government Center and at Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr., both close to the station. It runs 5:30 am to 10 pm, so it will not help with the first or last trains of the day.

Buses and trolleys: Metrobus routes 7, 95, 836 and 837 and Broward County Transit express routes 109 and 110 serve the station, along with the free City of Miami trolley's Coral Way route and Freebee on-demand rides in downtown. A Citi Bike dock sits outside Brightline's main entrance.

Tri-Rail in the same building

Tri-Rail began running into MiamiCentral in January 2024. Most Tri-Rail trips to or from here need a change at Metrorail Transfer station; Tri-Rail says only the X301 and X302 express trains run straight through. There is no Tri-Rail parking at the station.

Tri-Rail's ticket kiosk here is staffed Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, and closed on weekends and holidays. Vending machines on the Track 4 and Track 5 platforms take cash, debit and credit cards during train hours.

To the airport and the port

Brightline runs a shuttle between MiamiCentral and Miami International Airport for $12 per guest plus a $3 fuel surcharge, with a same-day Brightline ticket. It runs daily from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, leaves the station 10 minutes after trains arrive, and picks up at the airport about every 30 minutes. A FLEX fare includes one one-way shuttle ride.

Brightline lists MiamiCentral to PortMiami as a cruise connection but publishes no port shuttle price, so plan a taxi, rideshare or the free Coral Way trolley and check your cruise line's transfer offer.
