Zoo Miami tickets and discounts: every legit way to pay less
Zoo Miami costs $30 for adults at the gate, less online. Here is every real discount, when a membership pays off, Zoo Lights dates and how to plan the day.

How the discounts actually work
Zoo Miami, the county zoo at 12400 SW 152nd Street, posts its discounts on its ticket page, and most of them have the same catch: you buy on site at the ticketing building with ID, not online. That applies to the military, senior, police and firefighter, teacher and reciprocal-zoo discounts. Police, firefighters and teachers get $3 off for themselves and up to five guests.
Reciprocal members are the overlooked group. If you hold a membership at a participating zoo or aquarium elsewhere, show the card and photo ID for 50% off general admission for up to two adults and two children. Groups of 15 to 49 get 15% off, 50 to 99 get 20%, and 100 or more get 25%, through a reservation form.
Discounts do not stack. The Zoo says they cannot be combined with group, promotion or other offers. The ticket page lists no separate Florida resident rate and no general free days beyond the Golden Ticket Tuesdays for local seniors.
The online shop's prices are a few dollars under the gate price on the ticket page. The shop does not say whether its figure includes tax, so check the total at checkout before you count the savings.

At gate prices, two adults and two children pay $112 for one visit, so the Family Pass pays for itself on the second visit. Members also get $4 off for accompanying guests, 20% off safari cycle rentals and free or discounted entry at 140-plus zoos and aquariums. Until November 15, 2026, code MOREMONTHS gives a 2027 membership that starts on purchase, runs to December 31, 2027 and includes Zoo Boo.

Open daily 10 am to 5 pm, last ticket at 4 pm. Thanksgiving hours are 10 am to 3 pm and Christmas Day noon to 5 pm. On night-event dates the zoo closes at 4 pm with the last ticket at 3 pm, so check the calendar.
Arrive at opening: the zoo says capacity is limited. Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside, but there are picnic tables outside the entrance. Pets are not allowed; service animals are. When the heat index reaches about 105 to 108 degrees, some animals go into their night quarters, so summer afternoons are the weakest time to visit.
