The pool schedule
Public swim here is short, so plan around it: weekdays from noon to 1 pm and again from 5 to 5:30 pm, plus Saturday from 9 to 11 am. Most of the pool day goes to water exercise, which runs weekday mornings from 8 to noon, 1 to 2 pm and 4 to 5 pm. Learn-to-swim classes are offered, but registration happens through the pool office, open weekdays 8 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 to noon. Call or stop by before you show up with towels and kids. A half-hour evening window doesn't leave much margin.
The senior center
The busiest corner of the park might be the senior center. Adults 55 and older get free activities, and the weekly lineup is long: Total Body Fitness at 7:30 am Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Cardio Fit Plus at 8 am Monday, Wednesday and Friday, tai chi Wednesday at 12:30, line dancing Tuesday midday and Thursday at 5. Then the social side: sewing, ceramics most afternoons, Pokeno early in the week and bingo on Fridays from 10 to 3. Cards, dominoes and pool run 8 to 5. The center opens weekdays 7 am to 7 pm and Saturday until noon.
Camp, rentals and the grounds
