For anyone who likes architecture and skyline photos. The honest trade-off: it's a working office building with no public observation deck, so the real show is outside, not in.

The tiers and the lights

The stepped glass tiers are the whole point. I.M. Pei designed this 47-story tower, and the building's own leasing page calls it one of the most photographed buildings on the Miami skyline, mostly for its color-changing light displays. That's the reason it shows up in a views guide and not just a business directory. Treat it as something to look at, not somewhere to go. It holds a 4.6 from about 440 Google reviews, which is a lot of love for an office building, and most of it is about how it looks once the lights come on.

Getting past the lobby

Inside, Miami Tower is offices, and visitors shouldn't expect a tour. Business hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays, and the building is closed Saturday and Sunday. The sky lounge, coffee bar and fitness center are listed as tenant amenities. The Sky Terrace, with its reflecting pool and garden, is pitched for corporate events and cocktail receptions, not walk-ins. There's an on-site café and grab-and-go on the ground level, but don't plan a visit around it. If you have a meeting here, the management office is in Suite 1120.

The Metromover stop downstairs

Its most useful feature for a visitor is transit. The building has its own Metromover station, the only office tower in the downtown core that can say so, with a direct link to MiamiCentral and Brightline. It's also connected to the Hyatt Regency Miami, so guests there can be at the base in a few minutes. The building says more than 50 restaurants sit within walking distance, which makes this a reasonable starting point for a downtown walk. Hop off, look up, then keep moving toward the river or the bay.

Como chegar

  1. Take the Metromover: there's a station right in the building, linked to MiamiCentral and Brightline.

Bom saber

The building runs weekdays 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and is closed on weekends, so don't count on getting into the lobby on a Saturday.
