For anyone in Shenandoah or Silver Bluff who wants a reliable local with cheap happy hour, trivia and real bar food. It's a bar-and-grill, not a cocktail destination, and that's the point.

Beef on weck and the bar menu

The sandwich to know is the beef on weck, a Western New York classic: thin-sliced top round on a house-made kummelweck roll, with au jus and horseradish on the side. You won't find many of those in Miami. Beyond that, the menu is honest bar food: a double-patty burger with house sauce, blackened mahi on a house bun, fish and chips, eight-piece wings in medium, hot or Cajun honey BBQ. Swap chips for tots for $2. For dessert, there's a Key lime pie or the Brookie, half brownie and half cookie under ice cream and Oreo crumbs.

The weekly calendar

Happy hour runs every day from 4 to 7 pm: $7 well drinks, $10 house cocktails, $9 wine by the glass and $2 off drafts and apps. Tuesday stretches those prices across the whole day. Monday is $9 margaritas and $15 nachos, Wednesday is Superfly Trivia at 8 pm with a prize for the winning team, and Thursday takes 25% off top-shelf whiskey from 7 pm. Weekday lunch, noon to 3 pm Tuesday through Friday, knocks $2 off sandwiches and pours $5 Coors Light or Yuengling drafts. The $10 beer-and-shot special is there any time.

Who's behind the bar

Michael Radigan tended bar in New York for ten years before moving here in 2017 and working at The Mighty on Coral Way, where he met co-owner Bianca Alvarado. The idea is a straightforward neighborhood bar, and the 4.8 from about 400 Google reviews suggests the regulars agree. Drinks lean simple: a guava mojito, a Miami Mule with mango, an espresso martini, La Tropical on tap. It opens at noon most days, 4 pm on Mondays, and closes at midnight, except Friday and Saturday, when it stays open until 2 am.
