What a day there looks like

Jungle Island is an animal park on Watson Island, between downtown Miami and South Beach on the MacArthur Causeway. General admission runs 9:30 am to 5 pm every day, with last admission at 4 pm. Its own FAQ puts a typical visit at 2 to 5 hours.

The ticket covers walking the grounds, the Treewalk Village, the wildlife exhibits and the Guardians of the Jungle show, the Everglades habitat, the playground and the Manu Aviary. The close-up time with animals is an extra: Animal Encounters run daily from 9 am to 4 pm, and VIP encounters need an online reservation.

The park is open rain or shine. Animal encounters and Treewalk Village close while there is lightning nearby and reopen 15 to 30 minutes after the last strike, which in summer can mean a long pause.

Seasonal nights: Horrorland and Luminosa

The Horrorland, Season 7, runs on select nights in fall 2026 at Jungle Island, with gates at 7 pm and an opening show at 7:30 pm. General admission starts at $39.99 and a Fast Pass at $69.99, per its own site. Jungle Island also lists a daytime Trick or Treat Party on Saturday, October 31, from 9:30 am to 4 pm.

Luminosa, the lantern festival across 13 acres, comes back in November. The Jungle Island home page says it returns November 14; the Luminosa ticket site says it starts November 13, 2026. Its site puts parking at $20 a car and offers 10% off early tickets until October 28; the ticket prices were not shown on the page we opened, so check them there. Neither the regular annual pass nor general admission covers Luminosa or Horrorland.
