Коротко

  • At the airport: MIA Baggage Checkroom, Central Terminal E, level 2, 5 am to 9 pm.
  • No lockers: MIA has no lockers; the staffed checkroom is the only storage.
  • Near the port: Bounce lists a Port of Miami partner, open 24 hours, from $6.95 a day.
  • Downtown: Bounce partners from $4.95 a day; LuggageHero at MiamiCentral $5.90 a day plus fee.
  • At PortMiami itself: We found no luggage storage on the port's pages.

On a cruise or a late flight, leave bags at the MIA checkroom if you are flying out, or book an app partner near Bayside if you want the day downtown; there is no storage at the cruise terminals, so do not count on the port.

At the airport: the checkroom, not lockers

Miami International has no lockers. Its FAQ says passengers may store baggage only at the Baggage Checkroom, run by Communitel Baggage Storage on the second level of Central Terminal E, open daily from 5 am to 9 pm.

Storage is charged per bag per day by size. The rate sheet the airport links lists $12 for bags up to 18 inches, $14 for 18 to 24 inches, $16 for 24 to 32 inches, $18 for 32 to 40 inches, $22 up to 4 feet and $24 for 4 to 10 feet. That sheet dates from 2018, so treat it as a guide and phone before you plan around it. The same counter does $10 affidavits and notary services; bring ID.

Near the cruise port and downtown

PortMiami's pages list terminals, parking and transport but no luggage storage, so the nearest options are app-booked partner businesses. Bounce lists a partner called Port of Miami, a hotel open 24 hours, from $6.95 a day, and several more partners near MiamiCentral, Park West and the Kaseya Center from $4.95 a day. Bounce advertises free cancellation and up to $10,000 of bag protection.

LuggageHero's MiamiCentral page lists bags from $1.50 an hour or $5.90 a day, plus a one-time $1.99 fee per bag, with a guarantee of up to $500. Hours depend on each shop, so check the closing time before you drop off: if the shop closes at 5 pm and your flight is at 9 pm, the cheap rate does not help.

What the cruise lines do, and do not do

Royal Caribbean sells Luggage Valet, which its FAQ lists at $29 per person for Sky, Sea and Star Class guests: you check in for your flight on board and your bags go from the ship to the airport. Its FAQ lists the service only for Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Seattle, with Fort Lauderdale flights departing between 11:30 am and 11:59 pm on participating airlines, so do not plan on it for a PortMiami sailing unless Guest Relations on board confirms it.

Other lines' bag programs change by ship and port. Ask on board before the last night, when tagged luggage goes out in the corridor.

Перед выходом

  • Bring a photo ID; staffed counters and app partners ask for it
  • Check the shop's closing time against your flight or train, not just the price
  • Keep passports, medication and chargers in the bag you carry
  • Photograph each bag and its tag when you drop it off
  • Book in the app before you go and check whether the price shown is per bag
  • Call the MIA checkroom at 305-869-1163 to confirm current rates
