Best for a date, a birthday dinner or Sunday brunch where the bay matters as much as the pasta. It's a Tao Group production, so expect polish, a scene and a bill to match, not a neighborhood trattoria.

The building and the bay

Casadonna sits on the first floor of a Mediterranean Revival building on North Bayshore Drive, the same one that houses Miami's historic women's club. The name nods to that: it roughly means "house of the woman" in Italian. It opened in 2023 from Groot Hospitality and Tao Group Hospitality, which tells you to expect a polished, big-production room rather than a family spot. There's seating indoors and out, and the outdoor tables are the real draw, with Biscayne Bay right in front of you. Ask for one when you book, especially on a cool evening.

Riviera cooking, Naples to Gaeta

The kitchen builds its menu around recipes from five coastal towns: Naples, Taormina, Bari, Positano and Gaeta, plated in a more modern style. It mixes local and imported ingredients and backs the food with house cocktails and a long wine list. The online menu page was empty when we checked, so look it up before you go if you're set on a particular dish. Pizza is clearly part of the identity, since they run pizza-making classes. Prices aren't in our data, but with this ownership, budget for a proper night out rather than a quick bite.

Lunch, brunch and the dock

Weeknights are dinner only, 5 to 10 pm, with Friday running until 11. Weekends split into two services: Saturday lunch from noon to 5 and dinner from 6 to 11, Sunday brunch from 11 am to 5 and dinner from 6 to 10. That one-hour gap catches people out, so don't turn up at 5:30 on a Saturday. If you have a boat, the restaurant offers docking, which is a very Miami way to arrive. It also handles delivery, private events and gift cards. At 4.5 from about 4,800 Google reviews, most people leave happy.
