For boat owners who want covered storage minutes from the ocean, and for passing boaters who need fuel. It's a working marina with no restaurant pitch and no posted prices.

The dry stack

The building is the point here. It's an enclosed dry storage facility with 488 spaces, and the marina says it's rated to withstand a Category 5 hurricane. It opened in March 2017 and is run by Suntex, which owns marinas around the country. Boats come off the racks on what the marina calls the largest marine forklift trucks in the world, which were special ordered for this site. There are also racks for personal watercraft, and a limited-time special on them was advertised when we checked. Storage pricing isn't posted, so you'll have to call or use the inquiry form.

Right on the inlet

Location is the other half of the pitch. The marina sits on the Intracoastal Waterway at Bakers Haulover Inlet, between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles, with the Atlantic just across Collins Avenue. Ocean access is the selling point, and the site says so plainly. Haulover Park and Haulover Beach are next door, and Oleta River State Park is nearby. That gives friends who aren't boating somewhere to spend the day while you deal with the boat. Don't expect a waterfront hangout, though. This is a place for storing, fueling and servicing boats.

Fuel, slips and the store

Most visiting boaters will only use the fuel dock and the marine store. The site also lists a service center. One customer testimonial on the marina's own page mentions bait, food and a gift shop on the property. If you'd rather tie up than store, the marina takes slip bookings for a night or a weekend. It's open 8 am to 6 pm every day, so plan your fuel stop before close if you're coming back late. It holds a 4.5 from about 470 Google reviews, and the testimonials it shows focus on location and staff.
