Halal restaurants in Miami: who says they are fully halal, who is not, and how to check
Halal food in Miami: Shahs of Kabob, halal birria at Talkin' Tacos, Miami Beach grills on Washington Avenue, and which popular chain is only partly halal.
Kurz gesagt
- Most locations: Shahs of Kabob says 100% zabiha halal; Brickell, Wynwood, Coral Gables and more.
- Late night: Talkin' Tacos, listed fully halal on Zabihah, Wynwood to 4 am most nights.
- South Beach: Al-Basha Grill and Safron on Washington Avenue, both listed fully halal.
- Careful: Rice Mediterranean Kitchen: staff say only the chicken is halal, and it serves alcohol.
- How to check: Zabihah.com shows each place's halal claim and evidence.
Shahs of Kabob is the easiest fully halal meal in Miami, with branches across the city and a 100% zabiha claim on its own site; for anything else, check the listing on Zabihah and ask at the counter.
How halal is checked here
Halal status in Miami is mostly self-declared. Very few restaurants post a certificate on their own website, so for this guide we used two things: what the restaurant says on its own site, and its listing on Zabihah, the halal restaurant directory, which shows whether a place calls itself fully or partially halal, whether alcohol is served, and what evidence is on file.
A Zabihah listing marked fully halal can rest on a certificate on file, on the owners' word, or on a sign in the window, and the listing says which. Where the evidence is only a statement, we say so. If you keep zabiha strictly, ask at the counter which meats are hand-slaughtered and who certifies them.

eatkabob.com, talkintacos.net and Zabihah.com listings, checked October 2026
Zabihah lists the Talkin' Tacos shops as fully halal, with management describing them as 100% halal and a halal certificate on file, and no alcohol. Its own website does not mention halal, so ask the counter if you need the certifier's name.
Wynwood opens at 11 am and stays open to 4 am on Tuesday and Thursday to Saturday, 2 am the other nights. Birria tacos are $15.99 for three, carne asada $16.99 and birria ramen $15.99.
Shahs of Kabob, the easy answer
Shahs of Kabob is the closest thing Miami has to a citywide halal default. Its own site says 100% zabiha halal, and Zabihah lists every branch as fully halal with no alcohol, noting that the owners and many staff are practicing Muslims. The Miami-Dade branches are Brickell at 48 SW 12th Street, Wynwood at 3470 North Miami Avenue, Coral Gables at 2624 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, South Miami at 5975 Sunset Drive, Palmetto Bay at 14487 South Dixie Highway, Kendall at 13299 SW 124th Street, Doral at 8341 NW 12th Street and Miami Lakes at 15121 NW 67th Avenue.
Most branches open 11 am to 10 pm daily. Wynwood is the late one, open to 2 am Wednesday to Saturday. The site does not list menu prices on its home page; the menu page has them.
Miami Beach and downtown options
On South Beach, two grills sit on Washington Avenue. Al-Basha Grill at 1533 Washington Avenue is listed fully halal, with a halal sign on the premises, no alcohol and prayer allowed on request; its listing shows it open to 1 am, and to 2 am on Friday and Saturday. Safron Mediterranean Grill at 1049 Washington Avenue says its meat comes from a halal butcher and is grilled over charcoal, and it has a designated prayer area. Its listing says alcohol is not served, but a 2024 review complained about alcohol, so ask.
Downtown, Bengal Indian Cuisine at 109 NE 1st Avenue is run by Muslim owners who state 100% halal meat. In Edgewater, Halal Heat at 141 NE 22nd Street does kebabs, burgers, rice bowls and a lamb platter from 5 pm to 3 am, a useful late stop near Wynwood.
