The short answer

November is when Miami's weather turns into what visitors come for. National Weather Service normals at Miami International Airport take the average high from 83°F to 80°F over the month and the low from 71°F to 66°F. Rain falls to about 3.5 inches, less than half of October's total, and the Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30.

The sea stays warm longer than the air. NOAA's Virginia Key station averages about 77 to 78°F in November, so beach days are still easy in the first half of the month. Daylight saving time ends on November 1, 2026, which means sunset comes an hour earlier from the first Sunday.

Two halves of November

The first two weeks are the quiet window. Hotels have not reached winter demand, the water is still warm, and the only big crowd is the tail end of the Fort Lauderdale boat show on November 1. Watch the king tide days on November 6 to 9 if you are parking near Biscayne Bay.

From mid-month the city fills up. The Miami Book Fair runs from November 15 to 22 at Miami Dade College's downtown campus, with the free Street Fair over the last three days. Thanksgiving falls on November 26, and the week around it is one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. Art Basel Miami Beach follows soon after, on December 4 to 6, 2026, so the end of November is when Miami Beach hotels start to tighten.
