Little Havana is one long block of Calle Ocho done slowly: watch the domino games, take a food walk or eat on your own, then stay for live music at Ball & Chain, ideally on the last Friday of the month.
Máximo Gómez Park, which everyone calls Domino Park, is where older regulars play dominoes over Cuban coffee. The games are usually for club members, but players don't mind people watching from the benches.
The tourism bureau lists it as open 9 am to 6 pm daily on one page and tells you to contact the park on another. There is free parking behind the park and metered parking on 8th Street.
BALL & CHAIN
The Calle Ocho club that dates to 1935, reopened as a bar and music venue with a pineapple-shaped stage. Its calendar lists the Ball & Chain Trio from noon to 6 pm, then evening sets.
Open Monday 11 am to midnight, Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday until 1 am, Friday and Saturday until 3 am. Nights have themes: Mambo Mondays, BachaTuesdays, Salsero Sundays. Its site also advertises free salsa lessons; check the schedule there.
Miami Culinary Tours
The Little Havana Food and Cultural Tour costs $69.99 for adults and $49.99 for children. It lasts 2.5 hours and covers about half a mile on foot.
Five tastings, including a Cuban sandwich, croquetas and a guava pastelito, plus three drinks: a mojito, Cuban sangria and guarapo, with non-alcoholic versions. Several tours run daily; times are on the booking calendar.
Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine
The Cuban restaurant on Calle Ocho since 1971, about 20 blocks west of the main stretch. Open Monday to Thursday 8 am to midnight, Friday and Saturday to 1 am, Sunday 9 am to midnight.
Go for a late dinner or a coffee at the window after the music, not as part of the walking block.

Viernes Culturales: the last Friday of the month
Cultural Fridays, or Viernes Culturales, is the monthly street festival on Calle Ocho. It takes place on the last Friday of each month from noon until late, with art, music and food stalls on SW 8th Street, centered between 14th and 17th Avenues. Entry is free; food, drinks and art are for sale.
The remaining 2026 dates are Friday, October 30, and Friday, November 27. The organizer lists December as to be announced. At 7 pm, historian Dr. Paul George leads a free Little Havana walking tour from the Tower Theater; sign up through viernesculturales.org, because spots are limited, and bring something for the suggested donation.
Some older guides still say third Friday. The organizer's own site says last Friday, and that is the rule for 2026.
