Red Phone Booth

1010 Brickell Ave, Unit 105 · Brickell · $$ · Open until 1 am

Red Phone Booth is the 1920s-style speakeasy and cigar lounge in Brickell. You walk into a red London phone booth and dial a nightly code on a rotary phone. The code comes from a member, a hotel concierge or a partner, and the bar's site has a Get the Code button that issues a temporary password. Membership is optional.

Its site, as returned by search because it blocked our fetch, lists Monday to Thursday and Sunday 4 pm to 1 am, and Friday and Saturday 4 pm to 2 am. It is 21 and over with an upscale dress code, so wear closed shoes and leave the gym clothes, tank tops and ball caps at the hotel.

Kaona Room and Bodega: two very different secrets

Kaona Room is a speakeasy hidden inside The Leinster Irish Pub at 1600 NE 1st Avenue in Edgewater. The bar will not tell you exactly where the door is; you go into the pub and look for clues. It holds only 45 people, so Friday and Saturday sell out. Book through SevenRooms on its site or call 786-807-8587; walk-ins get in only when there is space. It is open Wednesday and Thursday 6 pm to 1 am, Friday and Saturday 6 pm to 2 am, and closed Sunday to Tuesday.

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila at 1220 16th Street in Miami Beach is the opposite: a loud taco counter where the lounge door is disguised as a porta-potty. The taqueria opens at 11:30 am daily; the lounge opens at 4 pm on weekdays and noon on weekends and runs to 1 am, or 3 am Thursday to Saturday. It is first come, first served, with reservations encouraged after 9 pm. Its page says a dress code may be enforced without saying what it is, so do not push it with flip-flops.

02 · The bar behind the taco shop

Coyo Taco

2300 NW 2nd Ave, Wynwood · Wynwood · $ · Open until 2 am

Coyo Taco's Wynwood restaurant has a lounge in the back, through the restaurant. The taqueria opens at 11 am daily; the lounge opens at 9 pm and runs to 2 am Monday to Wednesday and 3 am Thursday to Sunday.

It is the least formal speakeasy on this list. There is no code and no booking system on the site: eat tacos up front, then head to the back when the music starts.

Swizzle Rum Bar & Drinkery

1120 Collins Ave, Stiles Hotel · South Beach · $$

Swizzle is a rum bar down a short staircase off the lobby of the Stiles Hotel on Collins Avenue. It is still going: in July 2026 it ran a one-night pop-up at Bleau Bar in the Fontainebleau for Independence Day.

The bar has no working website we could open, and the only posted hours we found are on an old Time Out page, so treat those as a guide only and check its Google listing for tonight.

Dante's HiFi and the listening-bar idea

Dante's HiFi in Wynwood calls itself the neighborhood's first vinyl listening bar for analog audiophile music culture. It is hidden in the old-fashioned way, off a quiet courtyard, and it is open to the public, with seats booked on Tock. Memberships speed up seating and add at least one members-only event a month.

Its site does not post hours or a street address, so book on Tock and use the address on your confirmation.
