Where Venezuelan and Colombian Miami eats
Doral, in western Miami-Dade, has the largest Venezuelan population in the United States, per a November 2025 Here & Now report. That is where most of the bakeries and arepa bars are. Closer to the tourist map, you will find Venezuelan cooking in Wynwood and downtown, and the big Colombian names on Lincoln Road and in Brickell.
The two cuisines overlap. Both make arepas, but a Venezuelan arepa is split and stuffed, while a Colombian arepa is often flatter and served on the side or topped. Venezuelan cachapas are sweet-corn pancakes folded around soft white cheese; pabellón criollo is shredded beef, black beans, rice and fried plantain. The Colombian plate to know is the bandeja paisa: beans, rice, ground or grilled beef, chicharrón, plantain, arepa and a fried egg.
We checked every place below for a working site or 2026 coverage. Its recipes live on at sister café Tina in the Gables, 4700 S Le Jeune Rd, open Wednesday to Sunday 8:30 am to 4 pm.
