For a big-occasion dinner with Mediterranean seafood and late hours. The trade-off is price: mains run high, and a 20% operations charge is added to every check.

The lobster spaghetti and friends

Riviera Dining Group's Brickell room bills its food as South of France and Italian flavors, and the menu follows through. The Maine lobster spaghetti is the dish on the homepage and costs $90 at dinner. Around it: bouillabaisse de Marseille at $75, a grilled daurade royale for two at $115, half a dozen oysters at $32 and a caviar pasta at $80. Starters are gentler, with crab croquettes at $24 and a tuna niçoise salad at $36.

Reading the bill

Check the fine print before you tip. Claudie adds a 20% operations charge to every check, rising to 22% for parties of six or more, and says further gratuity is at your discretion. Cocktails are $19 to $28, named after painters such as Matisse and Van Gogh, and there are zero-proof drinks at $16. Price level is the full four dollar signs on Google. It still rates 4.8 from about 6,300 Google reviews, so most diners feel they got the night they paid for.

Lunch versus late night

Weekday lunch runs noon to 3 pm, with a shorter menu: Claudie Caesar at $22, rigatoni at $28 and a lunch-sized lobster spaghetti at $55. Dinner starts at 6 pm most nights and 5:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and the kitchen keeps going late, until 1 am Sunday to Thursday and 2 am on Friday and Saturday. Saturday is dinner only.
