Best for groups and late eaters in Brickell who want to grill their own dinner. It's $$$ at full price, so the trick is timing your visit around happy hour or committing to all-you-can-eat.

Happy hour is the move

Sunday is the day to aim for: happy hour runs all day long. Monday through Thursday it covers 11:30 am to 5 pm, then comes back from 9:30 pm until the 10:45 pm last seating. Friday and Saturday follow the same pattern, with the late window running 10:30 pm to 11:45 pm. That late slot is why this works as a late-night pick in Brickell. Outside those hours it's $$$, so planning around the windows is the easiest way to keep the bill sane. Weekday lunch gets its own menu too, 11:30 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday only, never on weekends or holidays.

All you can eat, or not

The Premium All You Can Eat menu is the big decision at the table. It's offered until a 9:45 pm last seating Sunday through Thursday and 10:45 pm on Friday and Saturday, and not on holidays. It makes the most sense when everyone plans to keep ordering. If you'd rather eat less and splurge, there's an A5 Wagyu menu, though supplies are limited, so it can run out. There's also a course menu, an à la carte menu, a vegetarian menu, a kid's menu and a dessert menu, which makes this an easy call when your group can't agree on anything.

Miami has two Gyu-Kaku locations, and this is the Brickell one, in Unit R1 of the Infinity at Brickell building on SW 13th Street. It's the one to pick if you're staying or working around Brickell; the other is out in Pinecrest. It holds a 4.7 from about 5,000 Google reviews, which is a lot of people grilling their own dinner and leaving happy. The restaurant takes reservations, and a Friday or Saturday table is worth booking. Takeout runs until 10:30 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 pm on weekends, but cooking at the table is the whole point.
