Calle Ocho is SW 8th Street in Little Havana. Here is the block-by-block plan: Domino Park, the cafés, the live music bars and Cultural Fridays.

- What it is: SW 8th Street through Little Havana; the busy blocks sit around SW 14th to 17th Avenue.

- Next big night: Viernes Culturales, the last Friday of the month: October 30 and November 27, 2026.
- Getting there: The free City of Miami trolley runs a Little Havana route, 6:30 am to 11 pm Mon to Sat.

What Calle Ocho actually is
Calle Ocho is the Spanish name for SW 8th Street, the main street of Little Havana, just west of downtown Miami. The street runs for miles, but the part visitors mean when they say Calle Ocho is a short, walkable stretch around SW 14th to 17th Avenue, with Domino Park in the middle. Most of the famous names are within a few blocks of each other; Versailles is the big exception, out at SW 35th Avenue.
It is a working street, not a theme park. Traffic is heavy, the sidewalks are narrow in places, and the bars stay open far later than the cafés and shops. Daytime is for coffee, dominoes, cigars and art; night is for music. The street also hosts the free Calle Ocho Festival in March, which closes the road for a day; that has its own guide.

Hours change on holidays. El Rey de las Fritas is left out because its listings disagree; check its current hours before you go.
Venue websites, miamiandbeaches.com and miami.gov, checked October 2026
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau says games here are typically for members: people over 50 with a Máximo Gómez Domino Club card. WLRN reports a stricter rule, 55 and a City of Miami resident. Either way, you watch, you do not sit down at a table.
The players are used to an audience and there are benches around the edge. Ask before you photograph someone up close.
BALL & CHAIN
A bar with a long Calle Ocho history and a stage shaped like a pineapple. Its own calendar lists a house trio in the afternoon and jazz and mambo sets in the evening, so there is music well before dark.
It is the latest-open spot on the main block: until 3 am on Friday and Saturday, per its site. The site does not mention a cover charge; check the event listing for ticketed nights.
Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center
Part gallery, part bar, part stage. The walls are covered in Cuban art and the room hosts concerts and events.
Its happy hour, 2-for-1 selected cocktails and $6 beers until 7 pm, is the cheapest drink on this stretch that we could confirm. It is closed on Mondays.
Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine
The big Cuban restaurant with mirrors and chandeliers, open from breakfast until midnight or later. It is a 20-avenue trip west of Domino Park, so pair it with a ride, not a walk.
The bakery and the ventanita have their own pages; the main restaurant hours are above.

Viernes Culturales: the last Friday of the month
Cultural Fridays is a free street fair on Calle Ocho on the last Friday of each month, with music, art and vendors from midday into the night. The organizer says it starts at 12 pm. The remaining 2026 dates on its site are October 30 and November 27; December was still to be determined when we checked.
The organizer's site describes the area as SW 8th Street from 8th to 27th Avenue; the visitor bureau's listing puts the core between 14th and 17th Avenue, which is where you will find most of it. Historian Dr. Paul George leads a free Little Havana walking tour at 7 pm on those Fridays; you need to sign up through the link on viernesculturales.org.
Antes de ir
- Take the free trolley or a ride; we could not confirm current street parking rates, so read the meter or lot sign if you drive

- Bring a little cash for ventanita coffee and tips for the band
- Ask before you photograph domino players or cigar rollers
- Check viernesculturales.org the week of a last Friday for the program
- Calle Ocho is a busy traffic street; cross at the lights
