Miami Beach: four free routes

The City of Miami Beach runs four free trolley routes, seven days a week, from 8 am to 11 pm. The city says trolleys come about every 20 minutes on average, and about every 15 minutes on the Collins Express. You do not need a card or ticket; just board at a marked stop.

Each trolley carries two bike racks. Service dogs must be harnessed or leashed; other animals ride in a carrier that fits under the seat. There is no eating or drinking on board.

Tracking the next trolley

Miami Beach shows live trolleys in the free Transit app: search "Miami Beach Trolleys". The city pays for the app's premium tier for riders. You can also text the stop ID printed on the trolley stop sign to 786.981.4545, or call 305.673.7117 for arrival times and lost items.

If you report a problem, note the vehicle number above the driver, plus the date and time.

The City of Miami trolley

Across the bay, the City of Miami runs its own free trolley on 13 routes, including Biscayne, Brickell, Coral Way, Little Havana, Wynwood, Coconut Grove and Health District. Most routes run 6:30 am to 11 pm Monday to Saturday; the Biscayne route runs until midnight. Sunday service is 8 am to 8 pm on some routes, and Wynwood, Coconut Grove and several others have no Sunday trolley at all.

The city says a trolley comes roughly every 15 to 45 minutes and offers a web Trolley Tracker. Since September 23, 2026, the Biscayne route skips its stop at S Miami Avenue and SW 15th Road and detours by Brickell Avenue until further notice. On holidays such as Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, most routes run 8 am to 8 pm.

The City of Miami trolley does not go to Miami Beach. For help, call 311 or 305.416.1132.

Coral Gables

Coral Gables runs a free trolley Monday to Saturday, 6:30 am to 10 pm, with no service on Sundays, the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving or Christmas. The Ponce de Leon route runs along Ponce de Leon Boulevard from Douglas Road Metrorail station to Flagler Street.

A Southern Loop pilot started on November 3, 2025 for one year, from Douglas Road station to Red Road. Check the city's trolley page to see whether it continues past November 2026.
