Before you go
- Miami's traditional dim sum is out west, around Bird Road and Westchester, not in Brickell or South Beach. Plan a car or rideshare.
- Carts roll most fully on weekends. On weekdays some places switch to ordering from a dim sum menu.
- Tropical Chinese serves dim sum from opening, all day, so there is no early cutoff to race.
- Zitz Sum is dinner only and closed Sunday and Monday. Book it on OpenTable.
- Hakkasan's dim sum brunch is Saturday and Sunday only.
- Go in a group of four or more. Dim sum is priced by the plate, and more people means more dishes.

Bird Road: carts and the long menu
Tropical Chinese at 7991 Bird Road is the cart experience: traditional Hong Kong-style push-cart dim sum, which the restaurant says starts at breakfast and runs all day. Its hours page lists Monday to Thursday until 9:30 pm, Friday and Saturday 11:30 am to 10 pm, and Sunday 11 am to 9 pm. Weekends are the busy time, and a wait at midday is normal.
Kon Chau, a few blocks west at 8376 Bird Road, is the opposite style: no carts, a long dim sum menu served all day, in a plain room. It shows up on every current Miami dim sum ranking. Its hours are not posted on a site of its own, so call before a late lunch.
Further out, South Garden in Kendall is known for carts on weekends, with ordering from a menu on weekdays, and Canton Palace on SW 8th Street in Westchester serves Cantonese food and dim sum all day. Neither posts hours on a site we could open.
Zitz Sum: the unsigned room in Coral Gables
Zitz Sum is the modern answer to dim sum: dumplings and small plates with a rotating menu, served at dinner. It sits in the lobby of the office building at 396 Alhambra Circle, Suite 155, next to City Bank, with no sign outside, so look for the building, not the restaurant.
It is open Tuesday to Thursday 6 to 9:30 pm and Friday and Saturday 6 to 10 pm, and closed Sunday and Monday. Book on OpenTable; it is a reservation place, not a walk-in dim sum hall.
Komodo Miami
Not a dim sum hall, but the closest thing in Brickell: a multi-level Southeast Asian restaurant whose menu includes dim sum, dumplings and Peking duck, reviewed in September 2026 with Wagyu beef dumplings among the starters.
Book on SevenRooms through its site; it does not post a dim sum list or prices online.
