Benito Juárez Miami
The only Miami branch of a Colombian-born Tex-Mex chain, in Wynwood, built around birria, cheesy quesitacos and margaritas.
Checked October 2026
Good for a loud group dinner or an easy Wynwood lunch with a drink. It's Tex-Mex by way of Barranquilla, heavy on cheese, ranch and sour cream, so anyone hunting regional Mexican cooking should look elsewhere.
Birria, three ways
Birria is the thread through the menu: beef slow-cooked with three kinds of chilies, served as soft tacos with pickled onion and avocado, folded into cheesy quesitacos, baked into enchiladas under gratin cheese, or poured as a straight broth. Quesitacos are the house format, with a crust of melted cheese on a corn tortilla, and the picaña prime version is grilled to the term you ask for. Tacos de la Plaza stack beef tenderloin, chorizo and chicharrón. Portions lean big. The Burrito Regalo de Dios is a double load of shredded meat plus chorizo, so plan to share or skip dessert.
Lunch and the mimosa
The site runs a separate lunch menu from 11 am to 4 pm and advertises a free welcome mimosa with it. That's the easiest way into a $$ place on a Wynwood weekday. There's also a happy hour, but the site doesn't post the times, so ask when you book. Hours stretch later as the week goes on: 10 pm Monday through Wednesday, 11 pm Thursday and Sunday, midnight on Friday and Saturday. It holds 4.8 from about 2,300 Google reviews, which is a lot of satisfied people for a Tex-Mex spot.
A Barranquilla import
Karen and Luis Parejo opened the first Benito Juárez in Barranquilla in 2009 to make Mexican food affordable in Colombia, and it grew to 12 locations there. This one on NW 27th Street is the only Miami branch, so there's no choosing between outposts. Expect the Colombian take on Tex-Mex: ranch and ranchera sauces, sour cream, plenty of melted cheese. The site leans hard on fiesta, with mariachis and margaritas front and center, and there's a kid's menu, so families and birthday tables mix in. Don't expect a quiet dinner.
