Ghee's Wynwood room opens at 5:30 pm every night and closes at 10, an hour later on Friday and Saturday. There's no lunch here, so plan it as an evening, ideally after an afternoon walking the gallery blocks around it. Chef Niven Patel says he wants guests to feel they've walked into his home, with the smell of spices hitting first. It holds a 4.5 from about 510 Google reviews and sits at $$, which in Wynwood means a proper sit-down dinner without the splurge pricing of the flashier rooms nearby.

Reading the menu

The menu posted online is the Dadeland one, and Wynwood keeps its own, so treat this as a guide to the kitchen's style rather than a promise. Expect Indian food that plays loose: brie and truffle naan, ghost pepper cheddar naan, short rib dosa, yellowfin tuna bhel and tandoori peri peri wings. Curries run from dal makhani and chana masala to smoked lamb neck with brown chickpeas. Plenty is marked gluten free or vegan. The chutney platter with crispy roti covers about ten chutneys, from green chili pickle to tamarind date. Dessert is gulab jamun or sticky date cake with ginger ice cream.

Sake, sodas and the big table

The brand's cocktail list leans on sake instead of hard spirits: passion fruit and ginger in the Ghee Passion, lychee and coconut water in the Mumbai Mule, tamarind and three chile syrup in the Mirchi After Dark. Non-drinkers get housemade sodas like tamarind serrano and lychee ginger, which is more effort than most places bother with. For groups, the brand runs a family-style tasting menu for the whole table, the easy way to cover a lot of the menu without debating; ask whether Wynwood is serving it. Private events can be booked through the site too.
